Pros

-Good benefits (unlimited PTO, free lunches, fitness allowance, generous health insurance etc) - Great product which customers can't get enough of -The most structured onboarding and enablement programs you can find- company invests heavily in the learning and development of employees -Company branding and performance is so strong you'll have little difficulty getting job offers/head hunted -No BS work culture

Cons

-In CS you're essentially doing a sales role with no commission + taking care of customer enquiries/complaints/issues- way overworked -Compensation is way below market rate -Promotions take forever despite consistent performance- losing lots of reps due to this -Incompetent middle management

Thank you for leaving this feedback. As an organization which prides itself on customer-centricity, we love hearing the positive sentiment you've experienced with customers and the impact our innovative product has had on their growing businesses. Our culture is rooted in a growth-mindset, and we do invest heavily in the development and enablement of our employees to ensure their success within Datadog. While we strive to build a workplace that employees are proud to be a part of, we also want to ensure that employees are happy and fulfilled in their roles from all perspectives (including compensation, career development and workload). We take employee feedback seriously and constantly use it to solve for departmental challenges that our employees are facing (including reviewing feedback from our internal employee surveys twice a year). We also encourage you to speak with your People Business Partner on any of these topics so together we can create the best workplace we can for our employees.

Pros

The company as a whole is on track to become a big player. Very engaging training, and a very interesting platform. You are allowed to be very independent in your role. Junior Management are quite hands off in a good way. Very easy to take leave and leave policy wasy great!

Cons

The role is very sales focused for a Customer Success role and KPIs are unobtainable for the CSA team. Bonus for hitting KPIs is not very attractive, so there isn't a lot of motivation to upsell. Pay is just a bit too low given how technical and how many responsibilities you have as a CSA. Junior management are not very cut out to be in charge of diverse teams. It's 2022 and there were a few questionable behaviours from the junior management that occurred. A lot of staff retention issues within the sales and CS teams. There are plenty of other companies with more competitive products that pay better, including New Relic and Dynatrace. Datadog will have you believe they are the only one in their league. Don't drink the cool aid ;)

Thank you for taking the time to provide this review. We appreciate your feedback on our training and onboarding programs, as well as the autonomy both in your role and in the flexibility to take the time off to rest and recharge. We recognize that there will always be room to improve across the company as we continue to grow and scale. Customer Success roles at Datadog are hugely dynamic and set all employees up with skillsets to be proud of. We are growing at a rapid rate, and do ask our Customer Success team to be partners to our Sales org in providing the right solutions to help our customers scale alongside us. Compensation is something we continue to revisit annually, and we will take this sentiment into account as we review our total rewards package across the department. We are passionate about creating an inclusive environment where every employee feels they belong, and we do not tolerate questionable behavior. Managers are now required to complete diversity management trainings and we're confident that this is having a positive impact in this area. Feedback like this only helps us to continue to grow to be a better company each day for our employees, so we appreciate you taking the time to share your thoughts, and wish you all the best in your next career adventure.
