      Sales opportunities and chance to be successful is not a level playing field

      Pros

      Getting to know the technical space and learn a great product. If you are willing to grind with late nights, sometimes even prepping on sundays, without little to no return depending on your circumstances (territory, manager, account list) then this is right for you.

      Cons

      Not a 9-5 job. Get ready to be your own BDR and dedicate a ton of time to outbound PG but also work on closing and following up with opportunities. Some help from SDR side, on average they would send over 1 call a month. If your manager is an outside hire, you could be at a huge disadvantage. Good accounts to work are scarce so hitting weekly goals is rare for the entire floor. Quota is unrealistic, 10-15 % of reps hitting their number. Flight risk is HIGH especially for new hires this past year. Its true that the rich get richer and the newer people drown or month over month just spin their wheels here. Unfortunately a huge lack of diversity and overdue efforts towards diversity and inclusion. Peoples team kept promising change on that side and took down ideas from folks but seems like those ideas to make individuals feel more inclusive are just kept in a box. Lack of training for leadership on lending privilege.

      Amazing Workplace

      Pros

      Datadog is a great place to work. It has still startup feeling when it comes to flat hierarchies, the feeling we get with colleagues and managers. I just started a few months ago but our wellbeing is huge company focus and I never worked in such a healthy and non-toxic environment

      Cons

      so far i actually can’t complain about anything. Will update it when something negative comes up.
