Pros

* Really smart, hardworking employees who care * Not ego-driven * Dataminr truly seems invested in DEI, and the ERGs have been making a real positive impact. * An amazing purpose-driven product that makes me feel proud to work here

Cons

It's still somewhat of a startup, so you can't be afraid to roll up your sleeves and work hard. Sometimes it can be difficult to find the line between home/work, especially now that we are all remote.

Pros

- The people, who are humble but excellent at what they do. - Ability to make a positive impact on people's safety. - Ability to work through technical challenges larger than other companies of this size. - Truly excellent benefits.

Cons

- It would be great to see more of the exec team and CEO at cross company meetings. - Diversity at the exec team level hasn't been great up until this point, but the new CFO helps to correct that.

Good benefits mask toxic sales culture

Pros

Good health insurance, unlimited sick leave. Size of the company means fewer solos between sales, product, operations, etc. Undefined roles mean you can wear multiple hats, which can be a fun challenge and great growth opportunity.

Cons

For all the wonderful people around (and a couple bright spots), there are more than a few bad apples (sexist, finger-pointing bullies). And the good people generally refuse to do anything about the bullying and will sideline those who dare to speak up. The women in leadership tend to be either willfully blind or bullies themselves. Your options become to grin and bear it... or leave.

Thank you for sharing your concerns. We take allegations of bullying and all forms of harassment very seriously, and all employees should feel safe and supported when making a report. I encourage you to refer to our Ethics & Compliance page on the company intranet which details all the ways (including anonymously) you can report violations to our Code of Ethics & Business Conduct. Please be assured we investigate allegations vigorously and take swift action to hold people to account. It’s incredibly important to me and the rest of the Executive Leadership Team that Dataminr is a place where you can continue to thrive and grow your career. If at any time you would like to discuss, please contact me or the People Team at HR@dataminr. We are always happy to help and support.
