Pros

Good team vibes. You will likely never find a workplace that is as diversed as dataminr. My peers and direct managers were awesome- smart, driven and fun.

Cons

There is no inspiration, no legacy, no passion anymore. The whole company just ...mediocre...

Pros

Good work life balance, nice to contribute to a good purpose, supportive managers, nice co-workers

Cons

This company used to be full of growth prospects and fresh venture capital funding to chase its dreams and goals. Unfortunately, leadership insisted on siloing each department from each other, forcing employees to act like other departments don't exist. This ended up halting any innovation or ideas from lower-level employees, and forced everyone to accept the business plans from our executives. Unfortunately, leadership has not seemed to develop many new successful ideas recently. Ultimately, this lead to a huge reduction in force, and reduced employee benefits. And then the executives barely took any blame for the lack of success at the company, aside from the CEO, who was willing to take accountability.

Disappointing compensation

Pros

Great teammates and managers who really know what they’re doing.

Cons

Over the past two years, salaries have only gone up three percent total, barring any promotions. The company has stopped fully covering healthcare, meaning employees are out several thousand dollars a year. At the same time, working conditions have worsened, with more being expected of employees for less money as adjusted for inflation.
