Pros

Pay is good for a part time job. Supervisors really don't bother you.

Cons

2-4 year wait for a full time dock job. If you enter the dock to driver program you have to get your license on your own, and if you're at top pay as a part time dock worker and get hired to full time you have to drop down to starting pay

Pros

Great pay, relative independence, simplicity. For a part time job, you cannot get much better than this. I was a student so the pay really helped with tuition.

Cons

Exposed to the weather, periodic micro-management, supervisors are constantly changing. Not too many bad things to say other than if you get a couple incompetent supervisors, it gets old really quick.
