Pros

Fairly easy going job for entry level positions.

Cons

Pay is ok. PTO is below average. You get 5 weeks after being at the company for 25 years. Policies are not keeping up with modern corporate America. Horrible ethics. Every corporate office is going to have shady things happening behind the scenes but the Accounting Department at Dayton Freight is beyond anything I’ve ever seen before. Your knowledge of the industry/job means nothing to upper management.

Pros

Competitive pay, great atmosphere, one of the best ltl companies I've worked for.

Cons

It's all or nothing when busy you're expected to work 10-12 hrs a day however then you'll hit slow downs and lucky to get 42-45 hrs a week, would like to see more consistency but hey that's the industry, however you can have favoritism and when it slows down 1 or 2 drivers selfishly take all the hrs from their fellow drivers, would like to see some respect from senior drivers!!

Pros

Benefits, some very good workers who become friends, Monday thru Friday.

Cons

Drama everywhere even when you do everything to avoid it, crap management, crap raises. Not enough vacation time.
