Pros

Regarding Admissions: Good salary for the actual job description. Free-ish schooling... but at DeVry or Keller. PTO and benefits. DeVry Education Group is huge so after a few years of the cons you could possibly move into a different school, location or function within the company.

Cons

Regarding Admissions: Management - dishonesty, favoritism, no accountability, catty chatting, lack of training, lack of leadership ability - generally all promoted based on ability to sell education not ability to lead or manage, generally lack ability to grow talent, they lack training, pose and business ethics. Little to no ethical growth potential. You're selling overpriced education mostly to people who just dont know any better and pretending to be customer service due to Title IV. High sales pressure no rewards. No checks and balances for anything. All performance metrics are "up for interpretation" and you generally change managers every few months so there's no real tracking system for your accomplishments but your "areas of opportunity" will always be at the forefront of your reviews.

Pros

Good pay for a first job out of college, it is a very good school to go to and you get close with your co workers.

Cons

It's a very hardcore sales environment and they sell lies to the employees too. They tell you they want to promote you and develop you and that it's not all about the numbers but that's a load of bull. They tell you that you don't have to have big numbers in order to get promoted because they recognize other skills you have but it's crap. I had more management experience than my manager AND his manager. But when I asked repeatedly to get into the management program I was constantly told that I needed more "advisor" experience and training. This was after they told me in the interview that I was being hired into the management training program and I could expect a promotion in 6-12 months after I got a little experience. They said they didn't care how many students I got in as long as I put my skills on display they would recognize talent. I developed a training presentation, by myself, with zero assistance from anyone. It was awesome and a few managers told me they would push that up to higher management. What happened after I gave the presentation? My manager stole it, took the credit for it started giving the presentation himself and is still using it, a year after I left the company. I never gave the presentation again. Why? I wasn't hitting my numbers. Bottom line, it's a high school environment with rumors, gossip, and all the male managers sleeping with the cute girls just hired out of college. And the only way to have a chance at doing something other than being a minion is to be one of the cool kids or to put 20 students in every session. I couldn't run out of this place fast enough after a year and a half. I needed something more professional and serious for my career aspirations
