Pros

I worked at Deccan for a year and a half and thoroughly enjoyed my time there. Although my division was restructured and my position was ultimately liquidated, I can still say that Deccan is growing in the right direction. I've read the past reviews and understand some of the frustrations of the previous posts. But please take it from someone who no longer works there and was able to see the underbelly of the company...Deccan is a strong company and management is doing everything in their power to keep the company moving forward with the employees always in mind. The staff is a talented, fun group who really looks out for one another and knows how to pull together as a team when needed. As someone who was laid-off, I have a lot of reasons to be upset with Deccan so it should speak volumes that I, in fact, continue to support the company and the staff. Yes, the company is that good. Even in hindsight, I am proud to say I worked with a lot of great minds and positive attitudes and I would encourage anyone who is looking to work at Deccan to visit the office and staff to see firsthand what an enjoyable office and company it really is.

Cons

In truth and from my experience, communication broke down a few times within management, leading to reactionary assignments that were not always the most well-thought out solutions or best use of time.

I appreciate your suggestion to potential applicants to visit us and come to their own conclusions. I personally would welcome the opportunity to talk to people about our company, and I know many other Deccanites would as well. Regarding your "cons" and advice to management, I appreciate your candor. We are really working on more clearly and meaningfully communicating company objectives and goals. There are many factors that impact our progress on that front, but I can assure you that I am personally working toward that end every day. I apologize for the breakdowns in communication that you experienced. I agree that clear and consistent communication is crucial and we are striving to continuing to improve in that area. I also appreciate your concern regarding efficient use of employees time. We are currently looking into several strategies for improving our efficiency and making the best use of employees' time. Given the dynamic nature of our work, and our current growth, this is an issue that we will always need to be mindful of. I can assure you that efficient use of staff resources, and the communication needed to accomplish that, are priorities that we are proactively focusing on. Really bad work environment!

Pros

Deccan is located in a convenient area in San Diego close to major freeways. Deccan' clients are great.

Cons

Deccan's management is terrible. They demean their employees and make only a certain chosen few feel they are worthwhile. Te company only cares about making money and really could care less about her employees. It is 100% true that the company asks it employees to post positive feedback on glass door. Any Deccan employee with a conscience posts truthful reviews regarding the company's poor treatment of its employees. The facts are the company has and will again cut employee perks and benefits when they feel like it. In the past Deccan has promised company trips and then taken them away, cut employee benefits, taken benefits away from spouses and children of employees, and fired people on a whim. There are many people unhappy at this company. If you work at Deccan, you more than likely have to but are looking for work elsewhere. My advice, get out as soon as you can. I've worked here too long and apply to any job opportunity I see. I haven't yet found work elsewhere but am hoping to make the move soon before my work environment kills my spirit for good.

Dysfunctional, Toxic Environment

Pros

The only pro is that I don't work there anymore that's all I can say. There are no pros for this company very basic to low end compensation and benefits.

Cons

Horrible management like others have said use intimidation tactics and manipulation but zero actual people management skills and owners do not care at all. Unprofessional managers and HR seems to have no training and borderline illegal practices. I was there for less than two years and saw unbelievable turnover.
