If you work faster than expected you will be paid more, which sounds good in theory. But this leads to everyone flying around at full speed on 2 ton equipment and cutting corners left and right in terms of safety. Management likes to tell horror stories at every meeting about people getting crushed but do nothing to prevent the actions that lead to said situations.
