Pros

Some of the co-workers are great and very passionate about helping customers. Pay plan is above average but benefit costs keep rising.

Cons

How much is enough? Michael Dell's ego is out of control. Maybe he's trying to prove something since Apple crushed him in the desktop/laptop market and mobile device market. No question that he's smart and charismatic, but he's missed badly on some things. His leadership team tries to brush those under the rug and only acknowledge the positive acquisitions or product launches. Not really the emperor has no clothes, more like the emperor is badly dressed and no one dares tell him. Lots of senior level people left and they hired inexperienced people at much lower pay rates. It went poorly and they started hiring some of those senior people back. Morale is terrible among most inside sales and sales support teams. Favoritism is rampant.

Pros

Money is the only reason to work at Dell.

Cons

Managers play favorites and are forced to cut their least favorites. If you don't have the same political views as your manager you will get a bad review and be given unreasonable tasks and expectations i.e. set up to fail.

Pros

Once an employee earns full vestment and maxes out at four weeks paid annual vacation, it's hard to find a comparable position elsewhere. Health care package is decent but growing more expensive for less coverage.

Cons

Senior leadership changes frequently, allowing huge, expansive changes in priorities for a global company. Millions of dollars spent on enormous IT projects are wasted when a new directive forces an almost completed program to be "shelved" before it can be fully deployed, in favor of whichever pet program the new leader(s) hold dear. CIO averages 1 - 1 1/2 years before taking their incentives and bailing. Next batter up brings thousands of employees wherever he or she feels the can make a name for themselves. Annual performance reviews are a waste of time and are usually based on "personal goals" written for an entire org by whomever is in charge at the time, but they rarely even apply by the next year's review cycle. Finance leaders project aggressive, often impossible earnings goals, then blame low annual bonuses and stagnant upward mobility on the missed projections that they set but couldn't execute.
