      Eternal game of accountability tag

      Pros

      Casual attire, helpful co-workers, central location.

      Cons

      Attorneys have no sense of accountability and every issue that arrises becomes an intense game of whodunnit, so get ready to be under the bus. Procedures change and no one bothers to update anyone. No one ever seems to know anything for sure, they’ll “get back to you”. High turnover rate, no sense of stability. It’s normal to hear yelling from behind closed doors. Never ending high volume of work. So much gossip & lack of professionalism, felt like high school. Everyone’s always talking about leaving, and they do.

      Pros

      - Firm invests in its people (trainings) - 5 weeks of paid PTO - Maternity/paternity benefits

      Cons

      - Emotionally stressful (networks are always changing, people come and go, no stability) - Politics plays a BIG role in your experience AND compensation (and you'd be surprised... it's not just about being liked... it's also about people not being threatened by you, etc., which is when things get complicated) - Senior management can be cruel and rude sometimes (I'm sure this is somewhat common with other firms as well... don't expect to be a priority for them and don't expect them to necessarily respect you or treat you as a colleague, they've had to struggle to get to where they are and it shows in their attitudes)
