      Unless you are already in the airline industry, avoid working for Delta

      Pros

      Delta is a leader in the airline industry, a challenging industry.

      Cons

      Over the past few years, the airline has offered periodic voluntary severance programs to employees. Each time, many employees chose to leave. Additionally, the company has gone through several rounds of layoffs. During the past few years, management has imposed significant salary reductions throughout the organizations These severance programs, layoffs and salary reductions have resulted in a significant "brain drain" throughout the organization. For this reason, accomplishing routine tasks can become much more challenging than it would be in a more typical work environment.

      Delta Air Lines is the best International air line in the world. We still have problems, but it seems to be getting better.

      Low pay, very little movement upward.

      Pros

      Travel benefits! You can go anywhere and see anything. Delta has also changed over the last several years. It's becoming more progressive and open-minded. A lot of consideration has been given to improving the workplace environment and creating a culture that gets us excited everyday.

      Cons

      Pay would be the current major downside, however that's moving up in the right direction now that we have new, progressive leadership. The company also likes to reorganize the departments frequently; but hopefully that will calm down soon once the integration with Northwest is complete.
