Pros

Nice, friendly people. Management pushing for change. World's largest airline.

Cons

Promotions go to the favored few, who may or may not deserve them. Rumblings from some in the admin ranks that there may be an over-focus on diversity to the extent that white males are held back. Management tends to focus on doing things a certain way--innovation is encouraged, but not if it steps on toes. There is an established mold for management and you are expected to fit that mold. Specialists are not encouraged to develop their skills, but rather become generalists. Most managers, esp. in the administrative ranks, do not have experience in the area they manage; they are true "manager managers" and focus more on people management, often picking-out random weaknesses and faults in those they manage.

Pros

Wothin reason the company tries to do the right thing for employees.

Cons

Cult-like culture. Very insulated and suspicious of "goings-on" outside of Atlanta. It purports to be a global company, but its thinking is local and confined to the Southern USA. Compensation for high level performance is not competitive with other industries, and its policy is outdated, where an employee in a rural part of the USA is compensated in the same manner as an employee in a city like New York. As a result in places like New York, the company cannot attract the level of talent necessary to compete for the best people available.

Pros

Delta Air Lines provideds the best flight benefit program of any major airline. $50 annual charge for flights to anywhere in the Delta/Northwest system. I'm talking Bankok, Tokyo, London, Paris, Amsterdam, Las Vegas, Los Angeles, New York, Miami. Where ever and pretty much when ever you want. All covered with the $50 annual charge. You also get a full health insurance package with options for HSA(health care savings account). You will also work in a non-stale enviorment that allows you to hone your customer service and critical thinking skills.

Cons

Some departments deal with passengers and you sometimes deal with some colorful characters, also you may also work outdoors if you choose to work on the ramp or in maintence, mother nature is the enemy there.
