I've been in the hospitality industry for over six years at different establishments and the Delta Hotel Toronto Airport was worst employer I've worked for. This is a franchised property which means that the hotel must meet the standards of the Marriott brand as well as the franchisee corporation. Please bear in mind that this review is based on the experience of someone working an office position and is not representative of the front-line roles. Here's why I dislike this employer: Very little training provided Management can't decide what their policies are Work environment full of cliques Outdated processes and unwilling to listen to ideas for improvement Little to no room for career growth Employees come to work late with no consequence to them Never once paid overtime even though I worked past my hours If you're someone that is looking for a steady job where you can come in, do your job and leave, this is the place for you. However, if you just starting out in your career, stay far from this place!!! This employer will use every opportunity to take advantage of you. For instance, they offer unpaid internships and entry-level jobs that pay barely above minimum wage. You won't learn much or build many powerful connections.
