Pros

Good Benefits and PTO. Some of the upper management that have been here for quite a long time are very accommodating.

Cons

I feel under valued. They don't tap into people's potential. Were supposed to be a team but no one knows what anyone does. No room for growth or opportunity.

Pros

The firm offers a comprehensive health benefits package, which is a notable positive for employees. Additionally, working within the IP department provides valuable exposure to intellectual property law and opportunities to build a solid foundation in this field.

Cons

Unfortunately, my experience at Dentons Jones Zip revealed significant challenges, particularly in the IP department. Key issues include: Inefficient Workflows: Processes and workflows are not standardized or cohesive, leading to confusion and inefficiency. Teams are often not aligned, and responsibilities overlap without clear delegation or communication. Lack of Openness to Feedback: Suggestions for improvement are not welcomed, and there is little interest in adapting to modern, efficient practices. This creates a stagnant work environment resistant to change. High Workload with Low Compensation: The pay is not reflective of the workload or expectations. While the health benefits package is good, bonuses and raises are minimal and do not align with the high demands of the role. Work-Life Balance: Employees are expected to prioritize work above all else, making it difficult to maintain a healthy work-life balance. The workload and expectations make it challenging to set measurable goals or feel a sense of accomplishment. Onboarding and Communication Issues: The onboarding process lacks structure and clarity, leaving new hires feeling unprepared. Expectations are poorly communicated, and the management team often demonstrates passive-aggressive tendencies, which further undermines collaboration and morale. Unhealthy Culture: Nepotism is prevalent, creating a sense of inequity within the workplace. Attorneys and support staff alike often feel undervalued and unsupported, contributing to a non-collaborative and, at times, toxic work environment.
