Pros

Great products, company car, fantastic business support for accounts

Cons

Grossly underpaid and overworked, no appreciation or value for the business consultants, constant harassment to make numbers that are completely unrealistic, information is never provided to us in a timely manner, way too much time "forecasting" where you will come in for the month. I was so excited to join the "tribe" and then I realized why the reviews on here all all so negative. And all completely accurate. I cannot stress how little Dermalogica pays their bright and talented staff of Business Consultants. You are required to service existing accounts, open new accounts, service national accounts, and meet all targets. Not to mention there is always a mound of paperwork to be done. If you do well and meet those targets and make some commissions, your target will then be so high, that you wont make it again! When you ask how targets were computed, the answer makes absolutely no sense. It's based on your average, and "trends". Doesn't add up. You are basically given a target that is out of your reach so they don't have to pay you. Bottom line. Although other vendors have an entire team dedicated to national accounts such as ULTA, we are responsible for seeing them and supporting their events as well. It isn't unusual to be told you MUST work for ULTA on a Saturday (even though we work M-F). So you are basically working for free. I could go on and on, but I will just say that I am so disappointed with my experience here. Upper management says they want to listen and make things better, but it never happens. You need to pay people a fair wage, that is what will make them happy, and stay. OTherwise, you will continue to see the constant turnover and negative reviews on here. But you probably dont care anyway. We are all replaceable, right?

Pros

It is an entrepreneurial environment where managers can get very involved in their business. Learning is generally on the job with little or no training. Great opportunity to learn the skincare business from R&D to account marketing.

Cons

Praise is much less frequent than criticism. Constant restructuring of departments causes confusion. Management and owners do not share short term or long term goals. Strategy shifts based on personal whims of management or owners or both, with changes in direction often contradicting. Location is in a depressing area of the South Bay. Pay ranges from poor to fair to good depending on who you know or how you got into the company.
