Pros

The Dermal group, Inc. does have a good products.

Cons

This company would make sales quotas in the beginning of the month and if they see that you will meet that quota they will then raise the quota in the middle of the month. The reason is always, "it must have been too low....or too easy".

Bad and Lazy HR and Management

Pros

Welcoming team members, lunch area, and office are nice.

Cons

HR is an absolute joke. It took over 3 months from the time I applied to my start date, despite the team I was joining being "swamped", yet there was no sense of urgency from my recruiter. I was told that people were invested in my growth, and I received nothing but positive feedback about the quality and timeliness of my work. When I asked for a raise or a full-time position, I was let go. My position was posted the very next day with the exact same job description and pay from when I applied almost a year prior. The recruiter said verbatim, "Dermalogica is not the place to get paid". Additionally, I was writing a white paper for the company. They told me I wouldn't be a named author, and when I pushed back, they just said they wouldn't publish it altogether. The pay is not good for LA nor the industry, and they are losing talent as a result.

Pros

Good benefits, hybrid schedule, product allocation.

Cons

This was by far the most toxic work environment I’ve ever encountered. Throughout my time there, I sought therapy weekly to manage the stress. My manager was highly micromanaging, constantly changing her mind, and having unpredictable mood swings. She would pit team members against each other to try to make them like her and would be incredibly cruel to just one person at a time. On top of that, she would make mistakes and then try to gaslight people into thinking those mistakes were their fault. I reported her behavior to HR multiple times, but when she found out, she retaliated by lying during my performance review and withholding my raise. Despite providing evidence that she had lied, HR did nothing. Instead, she was promoted to head of the department, while many of the employees who worked under her ended up transferring out, but she kept her title, pay, and position. Eventually, my role was eliminated, and although they promised to honor my benefits, they didn’t. Now, my calls go unanswered, and my emails are ignored. Throughout my time there, every request for additional training was denied, leaving me with no portfolio or credentials to show for the time I spent. This company completely drained me, both professionally and personally.
