Pros

- there are employees in other departments that really want to see the company and it’s employees succeed - overall benefits

Cons

- amazing benefits and pay can’t outweigh an HR culture that is toxic - HR should be there to help support leaders and employees in doing their best, but instead it’s a “click like culture” and if you don’t fit their mold or bring different perspectives, watch out - they claim they value diversity and inclusion but it’s really only surface level. If you don’t think exactly the same, they’ll push you out - there will be a response that says they take concerns seriously but they’ve been made aware of the problems with specific HR leadership and nothing has changed - HR continues to be one of the worst turnover areas because of this lack of true leadership- she will bully those who try to stand up and push them out. It’s an abusive and toxic culture - work/life balance is nonexistent and expects employees and burns employees out I wish I had taken the reviews more seriously before joining the organization. Until they change certain leadership, these problems will continue.

Thank you for sharing your feedback. We are sorry that you did not feel like a valued team member. The HR team works tirelessly every day to support our leaders and employees and enhance our DEIA (Diversity, Equity, Inclusion, Access) initiatives. We carefully monitor and respond to employee surveys, along with building and supporting the execution of action plans to address areas of concern. In our most recent survey, the HR team’s engagement score was an outstanding 98%. We are working hard to make Desert Financial and our subsidiaries the best place for our employees, our members, and our community and will continue to do so.

Pros

The pay is somewhat low for the industry but benefits are good, vacation time is decent after a few years, there is opportunity in the credit union.

Cons

Financial services is very different from the credit union. Unrealistic expectations, expectations changed and were inconsistent, overwhelming workload, supervisor has no leadership ability, has no experience practicing in the field and very limited knowledge and understanding but is friends with the CEO, office gossip and backstabbing is unreal, not following required legal rules and regulations, focused on making money and production speed instead of taking time and doing the right thing for the members
