Pros

nice people to work with, remote

Cons

where do I start, first they lied to me about vacation time. let me break this down, we get 2 weeks of paid vacation time for the whole year. 80 hrs for the 365 days we work. I'm not sure about you, but this isn't generous as it states on the website. we do get 1 mental health, 1 voting da, 1 flowing holiday so like 2.5 weeks of paid time for 365 days of year. Secondly, this job makes me feel like I'm back in elementary school. I mean when I say my parent never micromanaged me this much I mean it. They watch your literal every move. I mean down to how long you are in the bathroom for. you really have to deal with A LOT in a short period of time on these phones and no one is transparent enough to tell you this, ever! I mean even as you train for higher positions the training staff still gas lights you about what you will deal with. someone described the environment has toxic positivity and that is the literal best way to describe devoted. its very much gaslit, slap a smile and nice tone on regardless of what you are dealing with. if that's your vibe than this is PERFECT for you. mbrs are either rude as hell or sweet as can be. The fact that mbrs will down talk you and use racial, sexist, and derogatory language towards us but managements response to this is 'understand where the member is coming from' or take 5 mins is also very unacceptable. I blame myself because 1. any company that's all smiles and too nice is always too good to be true and/or hiding something and 2. because any company that cares more about its metrics and consumers does NOT actually care about its employees, they'll say they do and charm you with thing like fake benefits and nice people to show you when you start but they realistically care about one thing and that's they're metrics which = money. sad. this company won't las and if it does the turn around time for its employees will be crazy!

Devoted Health Response

Hello! Thank you for taking the time to share your perspective and experience with us. We’re happy to hear that you’ve enjoyed working remotely and working with your peers. We’re sorry to hear if there was any confusion on our Personal Time Off (PTO) policy. All employees, including Member Service Guides, are eligible to accrue up to 20 days (160 hours) of PTO per calendar year. This is prorated per employee based on the time of year that an individual starts with us. We’re also sorry that your experience with customers has been upsetting and demotivating. As much as we would like the ability to ensure that every interaction between customers and Guides is positive, it’s not always within our means to be able to do so. If a member is aggressive towards a Guide, there are protocols designed to support the Guide (as well as member) all the way up to and including disconnecting the call to protect their own well-being. We do hold our Member Service Guides to high standards as a group when it comes to timeliness. This not only allows us to offer excellent service to our members but also ensures that we remain in compliance with service level rules and regulations established by the federal government. We understand that circumstances may occur that are unpredictable and we strive to consider the person before our numbers. We take our internal culture and approach to work/life balance very seriously and take strides to ensure our employees are heard, respected, and trusted. If you’d like to continue the conversation, please reach out to Michelle Mulcahy, Director, Member Service Guide @ mmulcahy@devoted.com.

Pros

Creative freedom and working cross-functionally with different departments to get the job done.

Cons

Sometimes there is lack of direction. This is not a good company to work for if you are not able to take initiative or need to be micromanaged.

Pros

Everyone seems very dedicated to the company mission. Devoted Health's group of employees are some of the smartest and hardworking people I have had the pleasure to work with. The company's technology is advanced for a health plan group and made innovation easy.

Cons

The company expects a lot from their employees and is not very forgiving if someone does not always exceed the expectations of their role. Their method of communication and problem solving is very fast passed and agile, which was great for a start-up company. However, as they expand and continue to grow, it is not sustainable and causes strain on maintaining the work life balance the company claims to value.
