Pros

Devoted Health is a truly mission-driven organization. People care deeply about the work and the members they serve. I felt proud of the impact I was making, both internally and externally. You can do great, meaningful work here, and the bar for talent is high. Everyone is aligned around the company’s purpose, which creates a strong sense of shared values and urgency.

Cons

The environment is highly political beneath the surface. Project-based teams mean inclusion often comes down to being liked or politically aligned—not just being right for the work. They will adjust scope to fit the team. Product managers have significant control over what moves forward. Even if your project has merit it’s possible it won’t move forward. PMs control data & design as well (not a normal practice). The pace is nonstop, with constant fires and little breathing room. “Jumping in” is encouraged, often at the cost of role clarity and professional courtesy. Transparency is lacking. All-hands focus on emotional mission stories, not business updates or organizational changes. I just presented a strategic plan for 2026 one week before being let go—no acknowledgment, no transition, just lost IP. Also sat in on a meeting with the CFO who broke down our financials to a small subset of us…never mentioned layoffs and downplayed how bad things were.

Pros

You're working remotely, stipend for internet, tech provided.

Cons

Retaliation, backlash, retribution by leadership and management. HR (The "People" Team) is not there for your interest...at all! Leadership micromanages everything you do. There are no employee relations representatives to help support you if you need help or want to contest any write-ups or warnings. There is NO SAFE SPACE for you to share any concerns without retaliation. You're guilty until proven innocent and will be terminated if you "rock the boat" or highlight inequities. Leadership is "never wrong" and will never apologize for their failure to follow through. Your supervisors tell you to "ask questions" but in reality, when you do, they use that as insubordination or lack of role competency against you. You're constantly asked to complete "anonymous" surveys that do absolutely NOTHING when it comes to the toxic work environment. Once you're on their radar, its a constant barrage of punitive action against you. Surveys are not anonymous - a supervisor within Devoted shared with a team member that leadership can see who responds and what their responses are. One supervisor on one team can do something COMPLETELY different than another supervisor on another team when it comes to workplace policies. THERE IS NO CONSISTENCY AT ALL! The employees need to create a UNION and fast because there is no one to stand up for those not in a leadership or management roles. It's basically survival of the quietest, meek and mild.
