The best tech team you will find, and (so far) unmatched focus on the mission

Pros

Devoted walks the walk. The tech team is incredibly talented, and asked to cover really impactful portfolios. Teams are given autonomy to do the right thing, and if you are making an impact your project is allowed to grow and breath very organically. Building technology can be frustrating, and there are bad days for sure, but I have worked in startups my whole career and thusfar I have been consistenly impressed by how mission centric and positive the team remains.

Cons

The small-and-senior tech team is a great model, but has been going through growing pains as the company scales. Its pretty easy to find room for improvement, whether its how a particular tech team works with a particular ops team, or a particular project that might be more-or-less valuable than it was sold, or a particular manager/leader who isnt well suited to managing or leading. If you read negative reviews, it wouldnt surprise me if someone grew frustrated with their situation and rightly left. The only thing I would say is that, as long as I have been here, every team I have worked with/on has gotten better each year. Personally, thats a very rare thing to find professionally.

Pros

the benefits and thorough training

Cons

-Amy the supervisor was always sarcastic and left early on many occasions -Amy the supervisor was not professional; always posting her newest tattoo in the slack group chat -heavy micromanaging -choose to give pto to who they want -back to back calls with no breaks/stressful -no room for advancement -not open to feedback/critique -threatened to fire me for being on approved leave -only care about the money not the employees -mistakes can't happen; you'll be seen as incompetent -if your calls are rated below 85%, they'll put you on a success plan for 1 month

Hello, Thank you for taking the time to share your perspective and experience with us as a Member Service Guide. We're glad you've appreciated our benefits and training programs, yet we're sorry to learn about your negative experiences. Regarding our PTO policy, we strive for a balanced approach to ensure low wait times, compliant speed-to-answer, and manageable workloads for our team. While we aim to approve time-off equitably, busy periods might pose challenges when PTO can be more difficult to approve. These times are communicated in advance for better planning. It’s unfortunate to learn that you did not have a positive experience with this process. Member Service Guide as a department is proud to be a collaborative and welcoming environment. With various slack channels, our goal is to provide a virtual space so that employees who wish to connect on their personal lives can do so. We regret that your experience didn't meet this expectation. Our department's objectives align closely with our mission, which calls for maintaining high standards due to federal regulations. We recognize this can be demanding and offer stress reduction programs, including live and recorded classes, Lyra Benefit, and the Calm App. Feedback shows 97% of participants found these helpful. We also aim to provide growth opportunities through our tiering system, supporting both professional and financial advancement. Ensuring both our members and team feel valued is our core mission. We know that each experience is different and we welcome the opportunity to hear more from you about your perspective so we can learn. If you’d like to continue the conversation, please reach out to Michelle Mulcahy at mmulcahy@devoted.com. Thank you again, People Team at Devoted Health

Pros

The entire company has each others back. There are no silos and the transparency is unmatched. They truly want to change the industry and won’t stop until they do. They treat not only their members but also employees like family.

Cons

No cons- the culture is so different from other companies I am optimistic it will continue as they grow.
