Pros

At Dexis you get 3 things that you don't get a just any company - face time with the CEO, quarterly updates on the financials and stability of the company, and the opportunity to work with people who actually do care about seeing pictures of your dog. I choose Dexis almost 3 years ago for these reasons and even with recent leadership changes I look forward to its bright and prosperous future. We need the the right people for the right job and I recognize that Dexis is not a non-profit and guess what the bottom line matters. If I wanted to work at a non-profit I would go to one.

Cons

Medium sized business in rapidly changing world. Only the strong will survive.

Pros

As a project employee (contractor) you feel very included! The project management team and Dexis home office makes it a point to include us in most every get together, party and quarterly state of the union. I recognize that each project has its own culture but when it comes down to it the fact that I have been matched to have coffee with the CEO and VP of Business Development speaks volumes to the type of culture. From someone who has jumped from contractor to contractor, Dexis remains one of the best to work for in the international development space. Some employees have no idea how good they have it.

Cons

With so many office locations each project does have its own culture. As a project employee it would be nice to know there is job security on other contracts or home office especially with the coming administration.

The fact that you took the time to write means a lot. We're trying our best to address job security of project staff by looking internally first for new positions and syncing timing of new hiring with project ending. Those Bagel Mondays, Wine Down Fridays and Kickball Thursdays are part of trying our best to create social glue as well, so staff is keen to explore internally. We will do our best on improving benefits, We will be looking at better health insurance programs in 2017 and are happy to explore other benefits on request. Write to me directly on benefits ideas. Thanks!

Pros

CEO has built a company based on his strong moral values and commitment to employees. As the firm continues to grow the CEO's commitment to employee growth is seen by difficult decision making not understood or seen as selfish by a small group of employees. Dexis' CEO is far from selfish. He is the first to give credit where credit is due and is now making smart strategic decisions. Dexis is still very much a small to medium size business. That size business needs to add experienced people to manage growth. Often as companies grow, employees with seniority get promotions that are not the best person for the job. A resent tough decision was made to bring in someone with the right experience and let go of a non-executive filling an executive roll. It is nice to know Dexis won't be like many other firms I have worked at with a top-heavy organizational structure.

Cons

Silos are inevitable but work on setting up a system where departments communicate and meet on a regular basis. I still don't completely understand all department functions.
