Pros

It is a supportive environment that encourages its employees to look for improvements that could be made in almost every area of the business. In my 4 years there I held a couple different positions, most of which were a result of my interests combined with what the company needed. There are skills I learned there that I continue to rely on to this day. The culture of the organization also encourages a strong work-life balance.

Cons

It is a small company, and that might not fit some people. This can end up meaning you might wear quite a few different "hats" in your time there, but if you're able to view it as an opportunity instead of a downside, you end up really learning quite a bit.

Pros

The management team has been with Dickson many years which provides a great deal of stability and direction. I was provided the opportunity to develop my sales and marketing skills in a team atmosphere. The strengths of this company are focused on the supportive people who work with you to be successful. I retired after a very successful 9 1/2 years with Dickson. I would recommend this company to a friend.

Cons

There were no downsides for working for Dickson for the organized, hard-working person who likes to work within a team.

Pros

Dickson is a 9-5 job, which allowed me to continue my schooling by being flexible with my schedule. As a new college graduate, Dickson allowed me to build my resume and experience in multiple facets. While being a small company, Dickson proved to be relatively drama-free and goal-focused. During my time at Dickson, we had ‘Friday Jeans Days.’ Dickson also offered summertime cookouts, occasional company outings, quarterly meetings, and quarterly bonuses. Overall, I had a good experience at Dickson.

Cons

There was no formal training or mentor-ship program. While being goal-focused, there was typically a lack of a plan to achieve that set goal. Being a small company, sometimes things turned into the ‘he-said, she-said’ game. Despite hard work and dedication, it is very hard to move up the ranks at Dickson, given its small-business nature and existing management.

We've added a very formal training program and it's working out great - thanks for the feedback!
