Pros

Paycheck. Decent insurance. The HR lady is nice.

Cons

What am I doing here? Sales has horrible turnover. Cliques. Gossip. Lousy training. Managers are nice but don't address issues.

Thank you for your review. I'm very sorry you're not enjoying your experience yet. I've got a couple ideas to help change that. As you know, we’ve recently changed from having a reactive customer service group to being a proactive sales team and that change is really helping us grow the business. We’ve implemented some very structured training programs to help current employees make that transition but it appears you’d like even more help. Please take a few minutes to write down the specific areas where you’d like more training and go over it with your supervisor – I guarantee you’ll get more training. Our success is dependent on your success and we’ll do all we can to make sure you have the tools and training you need to succeed. Our teammates are super friendly and they enjoy hanging out together - at least that’s what our other reviews say :) But it sounds like sometimes you feel left out. That stinks. Maybe you could talk to our awesome HR woman. She’s in charge of planning our fun events and she’s always looking for more help. I think if you get more involved you’ll find yourself connecting with more teammates and you’ll start to enjoy yourself more. This really is the friendliest group of teammates you could ever imagine. I hope these ideas help because we really do want you to succeed and be happy!

Pros

As a recent hire, I can only speak to my experience so far. The interview process was fairly straight forward. Phone interview, followed by an in-person interview (reporting manager and VP), and online personality assessment. Vibe at the interview was very friendly and relaxed, mainly standard questions with a couple curve balls. This is followed by a quick online personality assessment. After starting, one of the things that struck me was how much people enjoy working here. Small company feel where everyone knows each other regardless of department. Hours are somewhat flexible, overtime is not expected, and work/life balance is encouraged. You won't be micromanaged, however feedback is given on a regular basis. Management has an "open door" policy where opinions/questions are welcome. Training is comprehensive with exposure to all departments within the company.

Cons

So far so good .

Pros

Dickson is a company that has been around for over 90 years but has a fun and relaxed startup feel. Management continually invests into it's employees to help them improve including both sales and product training. Management is constantly looking for ways to improve and encourages their employees to voice their opinions/ideas provided to you are suggesting a solution. My experience here has been excellent.

Cons

On occasion, like any company, there are communication break downs between departments. Although this is a weakness, I have seen consistent effort to improve processes to limit communication errors.
