The exact intern experience I was looking for!
Pros
I had a long process of searching for a graphic design internship that I felt would give me the exact experience I was looking for, and the second I interviewed with Dickson I knew I had found the company I wanted to be a part of. The Dickson team made an interview happen very last minute (on my part), which I was extremely grateful for. The marketing team worked around their busy schedules to make an in-person interview happen, which made me feel important as a candidate off the bat. The interviewing process was actually a pleasure to go to. The conversation was extremely welcoming and friendly, and the team made me feel like I was applying for an actual position, not "just" an internship. That leads me to what I think is the most important thing to take away from my review at Dickson: they never, ever once made me feel just like an intern, but as a team member, 100%. During my internship, I was always offered opportunities to learn about every aspect of the company, not only design, and played a part in making decisions that would actually affect the company and its branding/marketing. I learned so much more during the internship than I had anticipated going in, and would recommend to anyone who wants to broaden their horizons in the design world and how it interacts with every other aspect of a working business. I love the engaged and approachable team - everyone always made themselves available to me. Overall: The best intern experience I could have asked for! I'm coming out with some wonderful portfolio pieces and an enhanced knowledge of how working in the design field works. I will miss the wonderful people at Dickson!
Cons
I have no cons from the time I was working at Dickson.
