Pros

Many of the usual perks you find in tech companies these days: Great health benefits Reimbursement for gym memberships Catered lunches Fully stocked kitchen Occasional swag

Cons

Management does not take opportunities to coach, but instead micromanages their teams. I feel company underpays their employees, at least for similar positions to mine when compared to other companies with similar positions. Teams are small, and many people are meant to carry their whole department on their shoulders for such a big company. No collaboration opportunities or team projects where idea sharing is common. No middle-management, you're either in a starting position, or you're a director. There's no opportunities for growth in the middle.

DigiCert Response

Dear Current Employee, Happy to see you list out all the great things you love about working at DigiCert and we’re delighted that you appreciate them. Thanks for sharing your feedback on management and compensation. On compensation, we operate a pay-for-performance culture: the greater your performance, the better the reward. For our annual compensation review event, we benchmark on market-based research, using companies like Radford, Mercer, WorldatWork, to help ensure we are providing increases at pace with other companies of our size, revenue income and locations. We’re hearing that we need to do better at communicating this to our people so they understand how it works at DigiCert and more importantly how they can earn more. Thank you too for your management feedback. Last year we rolled out a Leadership Fundamentals training program for all people managers across the business. Over 75% of our managers completed the training, with the remaining 25% scheduled to complete by mid Q2. In addition, this year we are launching two other leadership development programs specifically focused on first-time managers at DigiCert. We’re aiming to have this program not only create new opportunities for our people but also ensure they are set up for success for those new roles. Thanks for the feedback on coaching skills. We’ll work with our Development team to build this into our roadmap. Thank you for your feedback and please reach out to the People team if you have any follow up questions

A few great aspects and pros don't seem to outweigh the cons

Pros

great work from home flexibility and pushing toward hybrid when local restrictions allow employees to return to an office setting. Health benefits seem strong compared to others in the industry/area.

Cons

employees are underpaid compared to market value. We constantly hear about wanting to evaluate for higher and see limited salary increase which makes the two seem like they are tied together. Ageism and favoritism is a real thing and hinders the growth of sales teams. This feeds into the culture of complacency and has built up a team of less driven sales reps that hinder the growth of what could be the growth engine of the company.
