Employees are paid low rates while the President rakes in a pretty penny. When the minimum wage in Arizona was raised, Digital Dream Forge began transferring its projects to a small city in Tennessee: One of the lowest minimum wage states in the country.
Promotions don't exist, and pay increases are exceedingly rare. To receive a promotion means being given more responsibility without receiving an increase in pay. Employees are not informed about any benefits they are eligible for at any time.
There is no transparency. Projects shift and employees move. Employees are told they're being moved to another project no sooner than the moment it happens, even though it's been weeks in planning.
Digital Dream Forge does not treat its employees with respect or courtesy. This happens often. For example, a project needed to be reduced by 2 members. This was known for almost the entire week prior. Instead of releasing 2 people from the team on that Friday at the close of business, they waited for the following Monday morning. 2 employees were fired immediately after clocking in for work.
Digital Dream Forge suffers from favoritism. There are some employees who are buddy-buddy with the managers and president who receive significantly favorable treatment.
Employees are micromanaged and the company is constantly changing the handbook to impose more and more rules. A time ago, the company had pizza nights, but then stopped. Shortly after, they began increasing restrictions and obligating the team leaders to write an increasing amount of emails to track their team. At a certain point, all employees were threatened with bathroom cleaning duties because other companies within the building were destroying the bathrooms.
It's a dead-end job with no hope for growth. There are 2 positions, neither which offers any benefit over the other. Digital Dream Forge is disconnected from the games industry and does not offer a good platform for entering the games industry.
Digital Dream Forge is an unrewarding experience in life that will do everything for its own benefit at the cost of its employees'.
