Pros

It’s flexible with schedule even though there’s so many meetings

Cons

No trust for their employees and this is company wide. You will see VPs involved on an IC level. Specifically for product managers, there’s not much help and a lot in expectation. There is also a constant misunderstanding on what the job is. Also, no trust in actually allowing product managers to do their job. So much politics and so many people taking credit for other teams. Also, the fact that executives are constantly battling each other for credit. No process for anything, some teams I work with aren’t even using jira. They took away the one benefit that meant the most to a lot of people, “Sammy recharge days” and did it with no tact. Unclear who we are even serving anymore as far as our customer base. Decisions get made at the top and you’d be lucky if you ever found out. People are constantly finding themselves not knowing about big decisions executives are making in a bubble. Layoffs were handled really poorly and with no tact or compassion

Pros

* Solid remote work culture * Great brand * Unlimited vacation * +Golang on backend+ (Some scattered ruby, python, rust, etc) * Competitive base salaries * Shark week (week long event where everyone gets together to work and play)

Cons

* Multiple changes in executive leadership since I've been here * Multiple changes in mangement * Red flags regarding stability or quality of projects are raised and nothing is done about it * Cronyism * Stock Options instead of Restricted Stock Units (you have to purchase your stock) * Little accountability for underperformance * Bonuses are few and far between * Many systems are fragile and feel duct-taped together * You will spend many days dealing some someone else's failing system * The core values seem hypocritical at times; do what you say and say what you do

Pros

Individual contributors and line managers are generally onboard with company values. The hiring process tends to result in good company value matches. The pay is roughly competitive with comparable employers.

Cons

Upper management doesn't live up to company values, doesn't prioritize customer experience, chronically under-staffs product and infrastructure teams, and generally creates an environment that leads people who actually do work at the company to repeatedly burn out. The CTO doesn't hold himself accountable for understanding information passed up to him by his direct reports and misleads the rest of senior management with his misunderstandings of key metrics.
