Such an exciting time to work for Diligent in Galway

Pros

- Amazing team hired in Galway, great sense of community and people who have each others back - A really diverse environment which is encouraged from top down - Open and honest communication from leaders - Amazing Onboarding experience, by far the best I have ever had and it was fully remote!! - Moving into Bonham Quay offices in 2022, an entire 6 story building including roof terrace overlooking the Galway Docks :) - The pandemic has made be realise how fragile some industries are and working for Diligent gives great job security plus we are continuing to grow - My voice is heard, plenty of opportunities to ask questions and feedback is taken seriously

Cons

- Fully remote has it's challenges but we have a "Culture Club" made up of team members who are focused on support team events and activities. They recently kicked off a "funny photo" competition over slack and it is great. I am looking forward to finally meeting everyone in person when it is safe to do so - Growing fast can be challenging but Diligent is a very ambitious company which I love

Thank you for your input! As the VP of R&D, hopefully I can provide more insight. As a company we always strive to be competitive, and regularly adjust pay for people without them asking for it. Furthermore, we are open to and work with our employees to bring them to appropriate levels if they believe they are misaligned with the market. After all, pay is important to us all; so let's not make it a taboo to talk about it. :) With regards to career progression, I am sorry to hear that. I can tell you that most managers have regularly 1-on-1s, we use an OKR system to set goals (including personal growth), and managers and individuals create career development plans to ensure individuals have actionable steps to get to their goal. There is a clear process by which we operate (Kanban based), and many opportunities to lead challenging work or present on technical topics. We have no artificial barriers in Galvanize in terms of years or role count limits (aside from Management roles where there is a limit in how many Managers and Directors you can practically have). If you are demonstrating potential to be at the next level, we 100% want you to be there! After all, why not? We have no incentive to hold people back. Hopefully that helps.
