      Good relationships with people in your store.

      Cons

      No work life balance. Corporate employees don’t celebrate wins and progress. Corporate employees make it very known that you are easily replaceable instead of embracing your importance, making you feel unwanted and uncared for. avps & vps let customers walk all over you and make you look like the stupid one. Corporate constantly states that our employees come first then customers second but this is a complete lie. Extremely money hungry people running the company, Gives VPs and AVPs $350k plus a year to absolutely do nothing but criticize your every action and demean you and your store on emails and meetings daily.

      You get paid and can advance up the company

      Cons

      They are more concerned with how much their making than actually making sure that their employees are cared for and making enough to survive. The managers also don't do their jobs most of the time and so you have to take the blame from customers.

      Pros

      Discount tire is a good company to work for. Benefits are very good. Clean environment for the most part (depending on what shop you are at). Overall company culture is good.

      Cons

      The biggest downside to Discount Tire is you have to be a favorite of the store manager and higher ups to really get the promotions you deserve. Worked for the company for 5 years and have been passed over for the promotion I was promised several times. No reasoning given about any of it. Working 50 to 60 hours a week does drag on the body a lot and makes it very difficult to keep going with the company.
