Pros

Undisputedly the leader in functionality - extremely rare to lose in a feature comparison End users love DocuSign Good benefits (health insurance, ESPP, 401k, etc) Fantastic professional growth opportunities for top performers

Cons

The whole commercial sales org is having a tough time with very few reps hitting quota. The solution is always just "make more calls" from your manager. The stock tanked because for some reason management thought we could continue growing at the same rate as we did during covid. Still blows my mind they acted like new business wouldn't slow down after restrictions ended. Product is extremely expensive compared to competitors. For SMB customers with simple use cases, it's extremely hard to justify the price. That said it's still legit the best choice for larger customers with more complex use cases. Zero training for new AEs, very much sink or swim. They knew I had no closing experience when I started as an AE and yet I got no closing training, ever. Highly underpaid in comparison to the industry. When asked about this, our CEO gave an out of touch answer and cited how Google employees also think they're underpaid. When I was shopping around for a new role recently, I applied to 20+ companies. Literally every single one offered a substantial increase in base pay and OTE compared to what I was making at DocuSign, for the exact same job title and responsibilities, at companies ranging from startups to enterprise companies. Either DocuSign is in denial, not doing their homework, or straight up gaslighting their employees about how much an AE should be making. A senior MDR has a higher base pay than an AE now, and MDRs have an easier time hitting quota. So a senior MDR often makes more than their AE. Wtf? Also the CEO promised pay raises for everyone, but then a few weeks later the CRO clarified it was everyone except sales. As one can imagine, the sales org was not very happy about that, considering how underpaid AEs are. Mass exodus of employees right now, like nothing I've ever seen at a company before. They're losing top performers because they can make more elsewhere.

Pros

A few good gems in an otherwise empty crater of a company

Cons

There is zero company strategy from top to bottom. Leadership cannot articulate where the company is going or what the goals are. One week its "partners" the next week its "acquire customers at all cost" and then "we need to be margin conscious" and zero strategy on HOW to achieve those goals. People who have been here 5+ years have climbed the ranks by managing up and taking credit for others work and pointing fingers when things go wrong, rather than actually supporting their teams and accomplishing anything. Hard work and execution are not rewarded. The company under pays, does not provide good stock bonuses, and overworks the very few folks who are actually holding this place together with scotch tape.

Pros

other than the benefits and them handing you $1500 to use on whatever you want there are no pros. The job is totally random and has NOTHING to do with your sales skills. You send out an email and you wait and then you are judged when people aren't interested.

Cons

-the pay is NOT good -Newco is a joke compared to install. If you get a Newco role DONT take it. No one is buying DocuSign anymore. -Adobe is cheaper and just as good so it's hard to convince people to switch
