Pros

* You can own Intellectual Property for things you do in your free time (https://github.com/github/balanced-employee-ip-agreement) * 3 weeks grace period to go through detailed onboarding process vs diving right in. * High Salary + https://Bonus.ly throughout the year + EOY Bonus + company equity / stock options * Great Work Life Balance: 4-6 weeks PTO/year + No on call / over 40 hours + in addition to allowing 70% work 30% study using OTJ hours vs having to study in you free time. They organized the workload / hours to make it possible vs a wish. * All the benefits sounded too good to be true, I got a lawyer to review the contract to verify the IP, and talked to recent new hires, and everything's on the up and up / surprised and refreshed by how trustworthy they are.

Cons

Not a con for me, but something to note is that the Cloud Engineer role is more of a consultant role for highly skilled engineers, vs direct hands on keyboard projects and SOWs with deadlines.

Thank you for sharing more about your time with DoiT! In a world where we're recruiting for the most sought after skill sets in the Cloud Ecosystem, creating an environment that allows for autonomy, ownership, creativity, flexibility AND continuous learning is absolutely essential. We're scaling quickly and continuous improvement is the name of the game. Capturing the feedback and notes as people notice opportunities to uplevel how we onboard and support our team is a huge part of understanding the 90 day experience of our new team members around the world. I'll circle back on how that feedback loop works within our Cloud Engineering org and make sure its more clear going forward. Please also feel free to relay feedback during your 30 and 90 day check ins with the People Operations team - Fresh eyes tend to have the most clear perspective, so bring on the notes and thank you in advance. Pros

The environment is a dynamic, collaborative, and positive atmosphere. Each day brings opportunities to work on complex and interesting cloud issues with customers that are leveraging the newest tools, technologies, and practices. The team is highly collaborative and extremely bright. Everyone is ready to jump in to lend assistance and/or learn. The executive team is inspirational and provides an open, high-trust environment.

Cons

The work is extremely intriguing. If you love your job it can be easy to work long hours, though the company will never ask this of you. DoiT managers emphasize the importance of balance.

Pros

- Great culture - Great opportunity to learn and grow your skills - Great talent/team members to learn and grow from - Freedom to decide how to allocate your focus and area of growth, as long as it is aligns with the greater company's needs (which are broad enough to provide many options) - Freedom and flexibility to manage your time and schedule to a large degree. - For anyone who is driven by constant learning and keeping pace with the latest Cloud and ML topics, can't think of a better role Note: - The Customer Reliability Engineer role is not like a typical role you would have in a product company. You should expect to context switch a lot, deal with a wide variety of issues customers face, and adopt to solve the customer's issues.

Cons

No specific cons I can think of. Just know it is a fast growing startup, as such you need to understand you will be expected to adopt and be flexible to changes.
