      Pros

      The pay and bonuses are a plus, not much else.

      Cons

      Workload and daily tasks. Poor district management and leadership. Poor corporate management! Unrealistic expectations! Not enough payroll for staff, SM is expected to work 70+ hrs a week with only one day off a week if your lucky. District Manager will throw you under the bus if you don’t brownnose! Staff not allowed to have overtime so SM needs to cover. District manager plays favorites and is highly unprofessional, corporate has never worked in any store or from bottom up so they have no idea what goes on! Corporate is usually external hires that don’t know how it is!

      Pros

      I've worked for Dollar General for 20 years and I like the company as a whole. Of course there have been "Sandpaper People" along the way that caused issues and made going to work miserable. I've either waited them out or moved departments. That can happen at any company. Over all the company really cares about their employees and they make a good effort to convey that.

      Cons

      Dollar General can be a little slow keeping up with current trends and technology when it comes to work life balance, software and computers. The cost of Health Insurance continues to increase to the point that it's not affordable.
