      Good company to work for in certain departments

      Pros

      Pay and benefits are fair. Training and support is great. Overall, great company, just not the department I was in.

      Cons

      Manager and certain supervisors/team leads play favorites and was very obvious. Applying for job internally is not always acknowledged--don't even grant an interview. Hiring from within?? NOT!!! Too bad.

      Pros

      Domtar is still the best among the competitors in the present down paper market. The industry is not at its best time, for sure.

      Cons

      Projects to harmonize multiple IT systems are on hold for undetermined period of time. HR policy in terms of vacation time is very inflexible. Management doesn't encourage feedback if it's not in line with what they expect. They are trying too hard to please the upper level and not takingenough care of their subordinates. But shouldn't it be vise versa, since it's your employees that make you a stronger leader?

      Pros

      Challenge of doing something with nothing. The company gives you lots of rope but you can quickly hang yourself with that samer rope.

      Cons

      Long, long hours of work expected due to vacancies in organization. Remaining few are expected to pick up the slack. Slow to respond to Job vacancies. General state of the forest industry is partially to blame for situation here.
