Pros
There are lots of growth opportunities within the Operations space at Dow. In addition to numerous leadership roles, Dow also has excellent training for new engineers. Leadership holds frequent conversations with the engineering staff to ensure they have a clear understanding of what the individual wants / needs. Overall, I have a lot of pride working for the company and have enjoyed my experience here.
Cons
In Operations, work life balance can be difficult. You are at the mercy of the plant and if you do not have that mindset going into an Operations role you will probably not enjoy your work experience here. As with any large company there is lots of red tape (can also be a pro - Dow does a great job ensuring changes have the appropriate reviews/approvals prior to proceeding). While Dow is always working to reduce paperwork and workload in general this is still a frustration for many.
