The River Lee Hotel - Organized but macromanaged

Macromanaged - the managers aren't constantly over you. This may suit some better than others. For me it is a plus. HR has created many different ways to recognize staff members for their work. The team is friendly and the staff within different departments are also very friendly. There is a sense of togetherness and a team. Management is nice.

Cons

Because the management is in the office rather than on the floor, the standard of service is a bit low for a 4 star hotel. I felt there were some staff who were slacking a bit. But somehow there was no staff tension. And therefore this goes unnoticed.

Great family owned business that cares for their employees as much as their guests.

Cons

As with all hospitality businesses, pay is low. However, Doyle Collection is above average pay for hotels.
