Pros

drivetime has a decent benifits package for all employees. the managers will spring for pizza every once in awhile from the cheapest place they can find and call it team building.

Cons

they turn on a dime and are very wishy washy. it is definitly a good ole boys club. they "lay off" high paid techs and then 2 weeks later post adds to hire new entry level techs and give them a $1000 sign on bonus but the techs that were laid off are forced to reapply if they want their job back and get there pay and senority cut if they do come back.

Pros

Great people and Personalities to work with. (Many are college graduates) The work environment is really laid back to a certain extent. Pay is decent for the amount of work involved. A decent work-life balance for this type of retail environment.

Cons

Beware of words this company likes to use such as intangible, perception, and transparent. Drivetime will use these words to brainwash employees to believe that they are more important than what they really are. The fact is Drivetime sees each employee as dispensable asset. I have worked for this company for over a year and they have eliminated many positions and with those positions hard working people that say they loved to work for this company. Although it's true that they do promote from within however promotion are few and far and only spread to those who have earned favoritism amongst the middle management. Be aware that if this "management" (which is under qualified and egotistic) perceives anyone in a negative light. They will hinder any chances to move up within this company. So in short you must know how to "kiss ass" to move up. So having an independent personality that is not in their opinion "Drivetime" 2.0" culture will brand you in a negative light. Drivetime says this company isn't metrics driven and they believe in self develop through the feedback of your management and peers however GM and SM and OM will always push for numbers breathing down each SA's back to make themselves look good towards their regionals. This company is not transparent as they claim to be, they constantly go through "changes" to self promote themselves into higher positions for better pay. I've read through a lot of the negative reviews here and for the most part I agree with a lot of them. The Pros are very similar and the CONS carry a lot of weight behind them because I've experienced them myself. As a current employee that has finally realized how manipulative this company is to their general work force, I am looking for a new job with a better culture... Inventory that this company uses is terrible, they punish the hard working sales advisor for faulty merchandise and Auto loans designed to set customers up for failure.
