Pros

It is still money when you get paid, however it is usually less than you actually work, there is some flexibility

Cons

Not compensated for mileage (argue over how far) not paid for any drive time. Not paid for time it takes to enter info on the cumbersome IVR system (computer time) Not reimbursed for reams of paper for (required) printing off projects. Despite regular emails to immediate supervisor and their boss questions go unanswered; schedules have no flexibility despite a 2012 directive saying they would follow your profile. Poor communication, one can call the office, however answers are not forth coming. All assignments given via login on the computer and sometimes these assignments are gone from schedule when trying to input work completed

Pros

- Flexible schedule; set your own schedule - Usually work independently - Get to work in different locations - Can usually get time off when requested - Overall, hassle-free environment

Cons

- Extremely low pay - Have to use your own vehicle for assignments but won't get reimbursed unless you drive over 40 miles, so there's a lot of wear and tear on your vehicle. - No benefits or supplemental medical/dental - Very little to no training. You're pretty much expected to learn as you go even if you've never done a particular assignment before. - No performance reviews given so you're unaware of your progress or lack thereof - Requires a lot of printing and there's no reimbursement for printing costs
