You won't feel like a hair stylist

Pros

Extremely flexible schedule (ideal p/t) Dress Code (more diverse than most NYC salons) They will educate you on how to service the clients if you do not already have the skills

Cons

You are only worth what you can do right then and there. Talented and versatile stylists will feel underappreciated and restricted. The hourly wage is a joke and do NOT expect to make more than $5-10 a client on average in tips. Zero valuable incentives (The incentives offered often do not make up for extra time spent with each client) The clients are the worst. If they are not silent and super picky, they will be disrespectful and direct you through the entire blowdry. Remember that you are servicing a clientele that cannot afford a salon blow-out with their personal stylist, Drybar offers them an affordable alternative.

Pros

- nice co workers - great decor - good concept - full time hours/decent pay - great music/ movies all day - snacks and drinks

Cons

- no advancement opportunities - management sucks - always over booked, due to call center as well receptionists booking - there's always confusion with the booking process because most ppl will lie about what an ER said to them, once we Skype the ER's you can never find which ER actually said this so we end up taking too many customers - blowouts are booked for 35-40 mins when they can actually take about 45 mins or more so all appointments overlap - stylists never get a break we had to keep handing them tickets back to back because of overbooking - managers are non existing, they sit in their office all day as if they know it's a mad house - stylists are underpaid, their tips suck as well - dead end job for everyone , high turnover rate, new hires everyday so customers grow fond of someone and by the next week they're no longer working there

Pros

Discounts and free blowouts. Woo.

Cons

The company has no idea what they are doing. They sold off the product to Helen of Troy who doesn’t know how to communicate and then when another company comes in to pick up the pieces things continue to get worse. Disconnect between Corp and literally any store that isn’t one of their two besties. I would never advise anyone to take on this role. They think 40k for being a salaried manager - taking care of scheduling issues, constant call offs, bs from Corp, running social media and training and running the store - is A LOT! What a joke.
