Pros
Smoothest move after beauty school. You can utilize the finishing techniques through out your career. Good side money too! They work with you on your schedule. It's also a set schedule, so you always know when you will be working. The Facebook group helps a lot with schedule pick up and releasing your shifts! What the clients have you can have some too ( cookies, tea, ect..). There's games in the break room, I like how relax the environment can be. In-between clients you can just sit in the break room and relax, they have pillows! I love the smell of the products, I always leave work smelling great! I love the theme of the salon. Think Audrey Hepburn! Quality brushes and tools! Training is fast and you learn some useful techniques. Instead of throwing away products, they give it to you! They also reward you with goodies! Stylist decide with each other on back work. You get to meet a variety of people. Giving someone a great blowout and boosting their confidence can be rewarding!
Cons
Really hard on your body. My hands hurt pretty bad after work from gripping the brushes all day. We are standing a lot and have no mats, with chairs that don't get very low. I'm a short person (5'4) my arms get a work out! Pay is okay. Management seems overwhelmed and seems like they could use more help. They are not always present, so it's weird to me when the bartenders are pretty much in charge. You don't know how much you made in tips at the end of the night. Again... Just hard on your body.. Very small break room. Demanding and very picky clients Products make your hands pretty dry. Sometimes no breaks (Duh, hair world) I feel like we deserve to get paid a little better. We work pretty hard.
