Pros

You get to say you are working at a large Fortune 500 company. You will be exposed to many different styles of management. The people you will be working with will be generally considered to be the best in the profession.

Cons

The growth right now is not there for the company, and it hasn't been there for some time now. They are being killed by the rising costs of raw materials like oil and natural gas. You are going to have a hard time moving up in the company as it is very regimented and hierarchail. The benefits package has grown worse and worse over time.

Pros

It carries a name that is recognized as a superior company. Flex hours are great. You can get away with doing nothing if that is what you want. Bright people. Can try multiple career paths just don't expect to get far unless you know someone and kiss up.

Cons

Internal systems are a chore to work through and internal technology is outdated by decades. They claim superior safety and ethics, they are just really good at hiding things, especially safety issues. Management comp is tied to safety performance and creates a conflict of interest. Poor management running things due to lack of qualifications and promotion of friends rather than those deserving. Management is more interested in what you do to make them look good regardless of what you deliver. Leadership manages their careers rather than the business and leave the mess for others to clean up. Benefits are shrinking, pay is marginal, internal pressures are high towards meaningless work and the company simply can't do things fast. I have experience significant ethical issues and people treatment at management levels that go unaddressed. Reporting problems reflects negatively on the person. Middle and upper management buffer leadership from what is actually going on at the street level. No accountability of management. Low morale, high turnover. Bonuses are not tied sufficiently to individual performance.
