Pros

Most are very nice and polite people to work with. Being a direct worker gets you benefits and priviledges contracted workers don't have.

Cons

Some managers and co-workers are corrupt and will do anything to make themselves look good such as steel your ideas and present them as their own and report you for things you did not do. If you are not a direct worker you will have no recourse for this and they don't want to hear your side of the story. Reporting to HR or the Ethics line gets you nowhere. They don't want to hear what you have to say and if you are a contracted worker you don't matter to them at all.

Pros

Wasn't there long enough to find a Pro

Cons

Duke Energy nearly destroyed my career. I was not told about the company having Covid Mask Requirements in 2022 through the entire Interview/Hiring Process. I was not told until I moved from Florida and was sitting in my house in Raleigh a few days before I was to report for my 1st Day. I will always make my own health decisions and refused the ridiculous mask requirements. I was forced to work remotely for two months while I submitted multiple mask exemptions to HR. Of course it being Raleigh all of my exemptions were denied after they consulted with their Lawyers I'm sure. I was forced to comply with the Mask Requirements or resign from my position. I 100% without hesitation resign from my position. I moved back to NC to be closer to family but had to deal with this mental illness. I am still absolutely disgusted with my whole experience with this company and how weak the men were in Team Meetings pushing compliance with the Mask. It took me nearly a year to find another position after explaining why I left Duke Energy. I had to move back home and cash out all my retirement to get by until I found another position. I will never recommended anyone to ever work for this company no matter how bad they need a job. They owe me a years salary at the minimum for what I had to go through having to stand up my basic right to choose what I put on and/or in my body. It was a hard year but at least I will be able to tell my future children that their dad stood his ground and made the right decision with his Dignity, Character, and Values still intact.

Pros

They give a great bonus each March.. thousands of dollars but only if you meet your numbers..

Cons

The pay throughout the year really sucks.. compared to other companies less wealthy, they really are low balling us employees and I’m rather sick of it. Starting pay is $17 when quite frankly it should AT LEAST be $23 or more! It’s really getting to be ridiculous! They do NOT care anything about a work life balance!!! They don’t give a care in the world about your family and this is definitely not the job for a single parent!
