Pros

Globally recognized, sharp minds. Reorganization and merger may breed openings and opportunities for future development.

Cons

Post merger in-fighting. Lots of internal competition, even between managers and employees, creates holes in sustainability, trust, and professional development. Still restructuring, deciding what the new merged company culture will be. Opportunities primarily exist for those who have been there already.

Pros

Overall Duke Energy is a good company to work for with good benefits and good pay. Being the largest electric utility in the country makes for a lot of opportunity for employees to advance.

Cons

Being such a large company, there is not that close "family" atmosphere.
