Pros

Very high pay for the work done. You get a lot of days off with a rotating schedule. Top pay is almost $35 an hour for fossil operators.

Cons

There is no support from management. Hard work gets you no where with the company. Benefits have been cut over the last few years and now they are pushing high deductible insurance on everyone.

Pros

- Great if you move to Charlotte - If your job is regional (digging ditches/climbing poles) then you are safe in OHIO.

Cons

- Ghost town because of consolidating, relocating and/or forcing retirement after becoming the largest Electric Utility in the nation. - Promising the North Carolina Commisions so many bodies will remain in Raleigh (old headquarters for Progress Energy) caused upper management to put importance on Raleigh and Charlotte employees and less importance on Ohio, Kentucky and Indiana. - Morale at an All Time LOW with many employees assuming that a buy out is pending.
