Great colleagues hardly compensate for incompetent management

Pros

Social environment - lower level staff are a friendly, fun bunch of people.

Cons

I worked at RSN for over five years and in that time multiple people were repeatedly refused promotions to jobs they had all of the responsibilities for - with none of the benefits and nothing to show for it. Senior management often went up the ranks due to tremendous growth in the first couple of years - NOT because they were adept at the job - and it shows.

Pros

You only have to work 3 weekdays, or more if you want to. Time off granted, no questions asked, as long you ask for it a week in advance. If you're a reliable worker, the boss will be nice to you and allow you to call-in, sometimes without even asking you to make up the shift. I would recommend this job if you're willing to trade getting paid low wages for personal time. Hence, this is ideal for someone who's not looking for a job that they depend on to pay all the bills. If you're not paying rent, for example, like living with your parents, this job may be fine for you. Also, you have to be comfortable getting strangers to talk to you on the phone. Some surveys can take up to 30 min or longer to complete (depending on how much the customer talks).

Cons

Unless you choose to and have been approved to work 10-6 M-F, you have to work at least one weekend shift. During political season, good luck getting time off. Shifts get extended a lot, and you won't know about it til you get to work. Low pay, and depending on which projects you're assigned to, it can be hard to meet the bonuses. If you're looking for overtime, they won't allow it, unless they're running a big project or multiple projects that require a lot of time, in which case, boss approves overtime hours. The boss will give you a hard time if you're the kind who calls in sick a lot, show up late, or don't show up at all. I don't blame him for that. This company has such low standards that they actually expect that up to 20% of hours committed will not be met. They take into account that there will be a lot of unreliable employees. Also, if the workload is low, you're looking at possible shift cancellations or getting off work early. In that case, you might be looking into not being able to pay the bills on time.
