Pros

Good work environment, flexible schedules and work from home allowance in most of the teams

Cons

Very drastic changes in recent years, many lay off waves. Recently a whole development team was terminated, the reason, relocating the development to Europe. Maybe for saving costs.

Pros

Reasonable pay and benefits package.

Cons

I hired into the Detroit office and although I had been warned about ongoing dysfunction, things seemed okay at first. Then they went through a clumsy layoff process and shuffled all the teams. PMs dragged their feet for a couple years trying to come up with a roadmap, leaving dev teams to just sort of figure things out on their own. The VP talked about mending the rift between the Austrian and American divisions, but he never actually did anything. The Austrian side had lots of resources and much attention given to creating standards and practices and tooling and libraries, but with little to no sharing or collaboration with the Detroit office, which they would then treat with disdain for not doing things "the right way", I had a someone once tell me that it wouldn't surprise them if the corporate strategy was to just ignore the Detroit office until it finally withered and died. That's a pretty good characterization of what it felt like while I was there. The folks who had been there awhile just seemed beaten and resigned, afraid to lose their paycheck but otherwise woefully unfulfilled. We attracted a lot of really talented people, but it didn't take long for most of them to get neglected or disrespected and they jumped ship for better opportunities. I honestly wish I hadn't accepted their offer.

Thank you for your feedback. We’re sorry you feel this way. As a fast growing, global organization, it is integral that we join together to collaborate and foster innovation to achieve our common vision of creating a world where software works perfectly. With the connection of teams being one of the various steps towards building an even stronger global mindset, we are investing in internal initiatives as well as training and tools to improve cross-department and cross-regional exchange and collaboration. As you pointed out, a big part of this mindset and putting this into practice lies in the hands of leadership, which we continuously train and develop to be able to tackle the challenges that come with dispersed teams in different time zones. Your feedback has been shared with our R&D leadership and People & Culture leaders. We wish you the best of luck in your future endeavors.

Pros

Great stock plan and good product. GRAIL could be a game changer if DT had a partner community. Fantastic healthcare and benefits .

Cons

Channel partners are non existent. This alone fuels more success at Data Dog. Our team lost every POC that we competed in during my time at DT. Data Dog crushed us every time. The SE team is very insulated and protected from bad press by design, they lack accountability because it’s just easier to blame the sales rep and move on. I had 4 managers in 3.5 years the last one being the least desirable and most confrontational. Every simple task like approvals or quoting is an absolute nightmare piled on top of the SE accountability issues. It was really bad a year ago,, I am sure it’s worse now. Not week goes by and I notice another tenured rep leave DT that had made quota in the past.

Thanks for sharing your experience. We appreciate your contributions over the years and the thoughtful feedback you've provided. It’s great to hear that you found value in our product and benefits, though we also recognize the concerns you’ve raised about leadership and challenges within the sales department. These are important areas, and your perspective helps us better understand where we need to improve. We understand how frustrating it can be when cross-functional collaboration doesn’t meet expectations, and when internal processes create unnecessary friction. Your comments about team dynamics and competitive positioning are being taken seriously and will be shared with our sales and enablement teams for further reflection. Thanks again for your honesty and for being part of Dynatrace. We wish you the best in the next chapter of your career journey.
