Pros

Great health insurance, but that was it.

Cons

Poor work environment, tons of politics, and you’ll be promised everything as far as a budget and given nothing.

Average company to work for.

Pros

It is a small company so you interact with all the departments. Anyone can communicate with anyone else (including the CEO). Pretty positive co-workers, friendly atmosphere. Get feedback from supervisor(s) easily. Good health care plan, but only if you don't have dependents. Free for workers, but costs a lot to include family members.

Cons

Compensation is low. It is a cheap company that hates to spend money on anything. Those that have been around since the beginning (company is 10 years old) basically have carte blanche. Some are lazy and really a pain to work with. Since it is a relatively small company, hard to move up. There was only one person between me and my boss in company hierarchy. He wasn't going to be leaving anytime soon, and even if he did, someone else would be brought in to take his place (big gap in experience between myself and supervisor).

Pros

flexible; the health insurance is free

Cons

Poor corporate values, lackluster leadership, and questionable financial decisions. This organization is deeply flawed in its approach to employee satisfaction and growth. One of the most egregious displays of disregard for employee morale is the complete lack of raises or bonuses for years on end. This neglect sends a clear message that the company has no intention of recognizing or rewarding hard work and dedication. Promotions are seemingly mythical creatures, as upward mobility is virtually non-existent. Instead of fostering a culture of growth and advancement, E&E's strategy seems to revolve around layoffs and redistributing the workload to an already overburdened staff. Perhaps the most damning aspect of my time at E&E was witnessing the unceremonious layoffs that occurred with alarming regularity. Instead of responsibly managing resources, the company's answer to challenges was to simply let go of its employees, leaving them to pick up the pieces of a broken organizational structure. The aftermath of these layoffs was an increased workload, decreased morale, and a pervasive atmosphere of fear and insecurity.
