Pros

Flexible scheduling? Gave me the experience to know what a crappy job is and how to walk away

Cons

-Employees are over worked ALL THE TIME which leads to stressed out employees that are extremely unhappy -There is no room to move up or around because no one cares how much you analyze or how well.. only that you are analyzing ALOT so you get to keep your horrible job Yipeee -BAD BAD BAD BAD BADDDDD buildings for labs.. their falling apart and corporate said they had no money to renovate? It's ok to let your analyst work in cramped corners with asbestos bags just flying around everywhere?? And they analyze for mold.. I guess it's free to analyze your own mold in your own building right so if it's not poisonous you'll still keep the mold around. Thanks guys -No employee loyalty... if the customers are unhappy because they didn't turn in their own samples on time they blame the labs.... no matter what.. corporate WILL back up the customers because their so afraid of losing to another lab GET OVER IT -Insurance policy is HORRIBLE the worse I've ever seen as well as vacation time and no sick leave??

Pros

Would have been close to home.

Cons

I had interviewed at this company for a Senior .NET Developer position. An offer had been made and negotiations had taken place. The CIO and the outside recruiter had been notified that I was going on vacation. While on vacation, the company sent an updated offer letter and requested it be printed, signed and faxed back within 24 hours. Again, I notified the CIO and the recruiter that I was out of town and did not have access to a printer or fax machine, but would print and fax the documents as soon as I returned the next week. The CIO responded by saying this was not a problem. Upon my return, I contacted the recruiter to talk about the paperwork. His response was that the offer had expired (yet the position is still posted).

Treat good employees like garbage...completely disposable.

Pros

I did get 2 promotions and fought for reasonable wages. Most are hourly employees so overtime is accrued. Vacation time was reasonable but in the smaller labs taking time off meant huge trouble for production.

Cons

Nepotism is the company moto. It took 2 years for the sample receiving area to get a hood for accepting asbestos samples. I watched lab techs work in unsafe conditions completely untrained with no qc being performed. Quality is not favored, it is all about quantity. Asbestos analysts were expected to analyze well over 125 samples per day. Benefits are deplorable. The HR manager just so happens to be married and related to all most of management so the is no safe haven for airing grievances.
