Pros

In my opinion, Engie walks the talk of sustainability, people-first corporate values, and the effects of climate change. At the beginning of the Covid-19 pandemic, the whole building was transitioned to work-from-home in a matter of 2 days. It was an enormous feat. The success of the effort is in line with the corporate culture of thinking towards the future and being ready for it. I think in any company the experience you have depends largely on your attitude, and whether the attitude of your coworkers and supervisors matches the company values. Overall I think the corporate culture and job framework can foster success in your career, and it is mostly up to you.

Cons

The work can be a bit tedious if you cannot imagine where your work fits into the bigger picture. Sometimes the training is not as robust as it needs to be. They did the right thing when the minimum wage went up in Washington, even though there was some compression. But they were proactive about it and raised everyone 3 months before it happened. There could be more transparency about job ladders and salary ranges. If you need to talk to people all day to be happy, this is not the place for you. Heavy spreadsheet work, and a lot of puzzling out things. Engie has a reputation as a meat grinder in town, but I don't find that to be true.

Pros

Depending on the team leader, it is a fun work environment and the work is fairly easy. Easy to move within company and explore other positions.

Cons

There is a lack of consistent training across the board and issues with redundancy. This company offers utility expense management for commercial clients. Due to inexperienced workers and unstreamlined processes, they end up charging many clients unnecessary late fees. For a company that is supposedly eco-friendly, there is not a huge push to get ALL accounts set up on e-billing instead of receiving paper bills. This would end up reducing the time it takes to receive invoices and reduce late fees. Something that is never mentioned is the effect this has on clients' credit rating because accounts are frequently sent to collections for non-payment. There is even a team that handles those issues, so you know there is definitely a problem.
