Pros

This really is a hard one to answer. The people you work along side are nice.

Cons

The CRO's leadership style is a significant concern. There seems to be a lack of strategic direction and understanding of effective sales management techniques. Furthermore, their communication style often includes inappropriate language and demeaning comments, creating a negative and unproductive work environment. In addition to these issues, sales reps face numerous obstacles to success. There is no structured onboarding or job training program, leaving new hires to fend for themselves. Management provides little to no clear direction on territory management or account development strategies. In addition, sales reps are not provided with adequate marketing materials. The current sales deck is outdated and riddled with grammatical errors, reflecting poorly on the company's professionalism. This lack of support hinders sales reps' ability to effectively present the company's offerings and generate leads. Adding to these challenges, sales reps often experience instability in their accounts, as they are frequently reassigned without clear justification. This creates uncertainty and makes it difficult to build relationships with clients and achieve long-term success. Furthermore, the company's sales commission structure is opaque and not transparent to sales reps. This lack of transparency makes it impossible for reps to accurately track their earnings and verify that they are being paid correctly. It also appears that a sense of favoritism exists within the sales organization, with preferential treatment given to those of a particular background (Irish) or people who one of the first to work there. This creates a divisive atmosphere and fosters resentment among those who feel excluded. While the lack of oversight might offer some short-term flexibility, it ultimately contributes to a culture of low accountability and hinders professional growth. Unless you just need a paycheck, I would not take this job.

Pros

- Cool team that I work with - Client offers a few nice perks (free food) - a lot of opportunity to learn and network with similarly-minded and connected people

Cons

- Astounding and crippling amounts of micromanaging - Management is completely unorganized and moves chaotically - Management puts their responsibilities on subordinates and questions when those same things are not done to the caliber of their liking - Client culture is terrible; often told that "no favors are done around here"; people are constantly throwing each other under the bus - PTO quantity is awful, we should really get more than what we're getting (currently we are only given 10 days and 6 sick days; in my opinion for the amount of work we do we need twice the amount of that). - have been told that working from home, or even a hybrid, work schedule is not possible or allowed, even though 50% of the job is overseeing sites remotely; and also doesn't seem fair considering the client gets to work on a hybrid- based work model. - Management does not properly train you; they put it on their subordinates to just assume a "trainer" role. Sets you up to fail later on in the job because you'll be positioned to oversee a project or an issue that you have not been trained in, and then get in trouble and look bad in front of the client for not completing it correctly - Job scope is changing literally on a weekly basis; we are often expected to fulfill tasks that would be considered field work, as well as traveling; both things of which were not indicated in early interviews. - very high turnaround time
